In 1986 a Swedish engineer and inventor made some important discoveries concerning the heat transfer capabilities of fluids showing laminar flow characteristics. The first product application based on these findings is the patented Laminova heat exchanger. This is widely regarded as a major technical breakthrough in liquid-to-liquid and liquid-to-air heat exchange technology.
Laminova was founded in 1989 as a greenfield operation with limited financial resources. In 1993 the Jansson family took over the company, a Swedish entrepreneurial family with diversified interests. Along with existing co-operations and partnerships in terms of technology exchange and development, the company is also developing commercial partnerships within the industry.
During the mid 1990's Laminova was rewarded business to several of the worlds leading automotive OEMs and race teams in Europe, Asia and US. Several new manufacture and assembly lines were built. By 1999 1.000.000 cores had been manufactured.
2001 Laminova become a member of the Opcon Group. Our production moved into a new modern factory at the Opcon head quarters in Åmål.
